05-02-2004 - 6:05 p.m. Damn, where have I been for the past 2 weeks? Returning to normal life after my fabulous Mexican vacation was a little rough at first, I have to admit. But I'm totally back into the swing of things now and... only 6 weeks of work left till summer break! Of course I'm gonna be working my ass off during the so-called break, but I do rather like the fact that I get a 2 and a half month change of scenery built right into my schedule. Now, ladies and gentlemen, it's time for a very important lesson on THE CRITERIA. I truly don't ask for much from men. After much pondering, I've reduced my needs to three simple things that make a man "desireable". And this list has been Jane approved, I might add. And so, without further ado, I present for your enlightenment... Miss Niza's Mate Criteria 1. A College Education Now, I know this seems a tad bit snobbish, but hear me out. I have absolutely nothing against anyone who chose to forgoe the college experience. There are plenty of smart, hardworking individuals who do not have an advanced degree (case in point: Troy from The Apprentice). And it may not always be by choice that these people did not attend college. However, for me it is very important that my mate has had such an experience. First off, the 4 years I spent in college completely changed me. I learned so much, not just academically speaking, but about life, about relationships, about friendship and most importantly about myself. And I just think it's important to have that type of life changing experience in common. Secondly, education is something that is very important to me. Learning and growing as an individual means so much. In my life I plan to at the very bare minimum earn a Master's degree, and I just can't see myself having much in common with someone who didn't also value education the way I do. 2. A Legitimate Job I don't need you to be the CEO of some huge corporation. And I really don't care how much money you make. This really just comes down to demonstrating responsibility, ambition, and maturity. For some reason, alot of guys don't realize that you can have a career without making it your entire life. I'm a hardworking gainfully employed individual, but you know what? At 3:30 every afternoon I leave my work behind and go live my life. I just know way too many guys who believe that in order to live their life they can't work. What the fuck? That's just pure laziness to me. And finally... 3. Wheels A car... sounds so simple, right? But it really is the little things! Having a car is so crucial, especially at this age. This guy I know was trying to set up a time for us to hang out and he actually said to me "Oh, I can have my dad drop me off at your house!" What? The? Fuck? This kid is 22! His stock totally crashed right then and there. I don't freaking give a shit if you drive a 1982 Chevy Nova, but for God's sake I'm not a fucking taxi cab. That is just straight ghetto right there. Last week I was explaining these 3 criteria to my friends Steve and Brian. I was demonstrating to them why I think they are A List catches to any normal girl because they actually fit all 3 of these criteria. They are honestly 2 of an extremely small list of guys I know who can actually claim to pass this simple test. Amazing, huh? I ask for 3 things and the most I can ever get out of a guy are 2 (if I'm that lucky!) **Quote of the Day** I have nothing going for me! I'm not even a slut! ~me Jane: it would've been a lot funnier if his dad drove u 2 to AC in his minivan Me: hahahahaha yeah thats true Jane: oh well, a girl can dream Me: yeah really, see then i'd definitely get over the whole "i feel old" thing that'd make me feel 14! Jane: if u feel old, then i should just go buy a motorized cart, preferably 1 w/ hydraulics and spinning rims Me: oh you KNOW my cart would be pimped Jane: i can just picture the 2 of us when we're 80 on these gold plated, pimped out carts w/ those chain license plate holders and a boom box blasting jay-z in the little basket and a horn that blasts "move bitch, get out the way" when u hit it
